Samsung is a company that needs no introduction. They are the leader in the global smartphone market, and they delve into electronics of various different kinds, leading the industry in many of these. This includes the smart TV industry.
Samsung is still the leader in the sales of televisions around the world, claiming about one-fifth of the entire market in the year 2021. Even when you exclude smart televisions, they are still on top of the game, with an even larger cut at 32%.

Here's what we'll cover:
Where is the volume control on Samsung TV?
Where your volume control is located on your Samsung TV, all depends on the exact model. Still, you can always adjust the volume on Samsung TV without a remote, regardless of which one you have.
On some, it is in the lower-left corner of the back of the TV. It is shaped like a square, and the left to right controls are for the volume.
On some other Samsung TVs, it is on the bottom of the center-front bezel, with about five buttons. The left and right buttons are for the volume. On others, there is only a single button in the same location. In this case, a single press moves through the options and a long press selects it. You can use this to change the volume.
Finally, on other models, it is under the bottom bezel, to the right-hand side. A single press moves the menu, and a long press will select.
Why is my Samsung TV volume stuck?
If you realize your volume is stuck on Samsung TV, it can be quite annoying to deal with. You might tune the volume up or down, but right after you do, it goes back to what it’s at. Samsung TV volume control problems like this are usually caused by software problems.
However, in some instances, this could be due to your remote. However, in these cases, your volume will likely go straight to 100 or down to 0.
How to fix the volume stuck on Samsung TV?
If you can’t change the volume on Samsung TV or you are dealing with any other kind of Samsung TV sound problems, fear not. It’s inconvenient having to deal with Samsung volume issues like these. It can even stop you from using your television entirely, especially when the sound refuses to move into an audible range or cause a lot of complaints from the neighbors.
You can use many tricks to fix the volume on Samsung TV when it misbehaves. Let’s jump right into how you can fix your Samsung volume problems.
Reset TV
What I find to be the best method to fix volume on Samsung TV if you’re finding issues such as the Samsung TV being stuck on mute or the Samsung TV volume won’t go past 10 no matter what you do, is to reset your TV.
Fortunately, Samsung doesn’t make it too hard for you to get a reset done. Simply follow the steps that I’ve described below to do it:
- Open the Settings menu. You can do this by pressing the gear icon on your remote control.
- Go to Support.
- Now, open the Self Diagnosis menu.
- Tap the Reset option and follow the instructions.
- Afterward, follow this up by going through the initial setup, which you can find in the General settings under “Initial Setup.”
Clean Remote Control
Of course, I think it is always a great idea to keep your remote clean and free of any gunk between the buttons. Sometimes, there can be enough debris to simulate a button that is continually pressed and causes issues with your Samsung TV volume.
If you know what you’re doing, you can pop it open and give it a deep clean, but for most, a toothpick between the buttons can help pick out any grime.
You can also choose to replace it if you can’t clean it. That might help if you notice your Samsung TV volume won’t go up.
Turn Off Intelligent Mode
The intelligent mode uses AI to give you the best experience with your TV. However, this can include dropping or increasing your volume depending on the ambient settings.
Note that only recent QLED models have this feature. To turn it off:
- Press the Home button.
- Go to Settings.
- Select General.
- Go to Intelligent Mode Settings.
- Turn off Intelligent Mode entirely or turn off only Adaptive Volume.
How to reset the volume on Samsung TV?
You can factory reset the sound settings if you’re having issues like your Samsung TV volume locked to a certain value or range. This can help fix minor glitches that you might face.
Note that you will need to manually set all your sound settings after this.
- Press the Home button on your remote.
- Go to the Settings menu.
- Now scroll to Sound.
- Select “Expert Settings.”
- Scroll down to the “Reset Sound” option.
Hopefully, this will fix any Samsung TV volume problems you have been facing.
Other Samsung smart TV volume problems
If you’re facing other Samsung volume issues on your smart TV, I found it very helpful to perform a sound test to see what might be wrong with the TV.
You can easily perform a sound test by going into the Settings, Support, and Self Diagnosis. Choose “Start Sound Test” from here to begin.
I recommend updating your smart TV software through the Software Update item in the Support menu in Settings. This can be very helpful when you’ve noticed an issue start after a previous update was installed.
